Nicole Ari Parker has worked on film, television as well as on stage. The actress is best known for playing Teri (the fierce attorney) Joseph. Her name is currently her married name, Nikki Kodjoe. Contractor was a participant in the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After an entire year of auditions, she was offered the role of lead. The year 2002 was a great one for her. Canadian theater critics were awed by her performance during 92 performances of Pericles. She was offered the opportunity to be a part of the Stratford Conservatory, which accepts only eight men and four women to study the art of classical theater. Contractor was eager to accept. Contractor was offered a spot for the following season. She was also offered the part of Hermia.
